NEW DISCIPLINE SANCTIONS IN NWPL

Clubs are asked to note that new automatic minimum sanctions for misbehaviour will apply in the NWPL this season.

Delegates may now impose an automatic admonition or suspension in accordance with this tariff:

·        Acts of Misconduct (including violent or persistent foul play or disobedience or disrespect towards an official – Rule 21.10)
For each of the first three reported offences – one-match suspension
For a fourth reported offence – two-match suspension
For a fifth reported offence - three-match suspension

·
Acts of Brutality against other players (Rule 21.11)

For the first reported offence – two-match suspension
For a second reported offence – three-match suspension
For a third reported offence – five-match suspension

Delegates will be supplied with a list of the offences and the names of previous offenders in the 12 months prior to the event so that any increased minimum sanction for subsequent offences may also be imposed summarily.

If a coach (or other team official) is shown a red card, it is deemed to be an offence of misconduct, with a minimum automatic sanction of one-match.

The system also permits the delegate to submit a complaint to the ASA Office of Judicial Administration if the automatic minimum sanction is considered insufficient for the offence.
