EVERGREEN JOHN PLAYS ON

OK, every team needs up-and-coming youngsters. But of course there’s no substitute for experience.

The article about Adam Monico resulted in a query from Sarah Dunsbee, of Hucknall, wondering who is the OLDEST player appearing regularly in the National League.

She nominates Hucknall’s John Gouldby, who was 50 earlier this year and still commands a first seven place in the Second Division side.

Can anyone beat that? Come to think of it, who are the oldest players currently featuring in each of our three divisions? We’ll be fascinated to receive your nominations.
