NEW BRITISH WATER POLO LEAGUE READY FOR THE OFF!

2010 has been an historic year for British water polo – highlighted by the completion in May of a merger between the men’s National League and the National Women’s League.

While this website will remain open for the foreseeable future, we do now recommend that you click on

to view the latest, bang-up-to-date British Water Polo League site, which features all you need to know about the new organisation.

The first BWPL season gets under way in September. Altogether, the top 65 teams from England, Scotland and Wales will be taking part in eight divisions – four men, four women.

The NWPL was formed in 1962 with eight teams - Birkenhead, Birmingham & District League (now Midland League), Cheltenham, Otter, Polytechnic, Sheffield Dolphins, Sutton & Cheam and Weston-super-Mare.

The NWWPL began life in 1988. Founder clubs were Stretford, Potters Bar and Coventry in Division One and Sirens, Dunfermline, Merseyside and Sheffield in Division Two.
